The game started off with a great pass from Lucy O’Rourke to Lucy Doheny which was a very close to goal opportunity but was unfortunately stumbled up towards the goal. Followed up by Lucy O’Rourke scoring a super goal from 35 yards out, it was very well worked up the field by all players. Another great attempt again by Lucy O’Rourke, but a great save by the opponent Goalkeeper. Shortly after there was a great kick in by Katelyn Dunne, and followed by a superb finish by Lucy Doheny, putting St Mary’s 2-0 ahead,6 minutes in.
Shortly after there was a goal from the other team 7 minutes in. Good effort from Lucy Howard on goal. There was free flowing attacking play from Ava Tierney and Sally Keogh. There was lots of super passes in by Isabella Campion which led to a Another superb finish by Lucy O’Rourke, putting St Mary’s 3-1 ahead with 18 minutes to go in the half. Half Time score 3-1. Great effort overall.
The Second half started off with a great save from Ava Tierney in goals and great tracking back by Christina Cowley. This led to a superb goal from Isabelle Purcell into the bottom right corner. It was like a rocket. There was great defending by Katie Gammell which gave Aoife Hand the opportunity on goal which she took superbly placing the ball into the net beyond the Kilcock goalkeeper. This left St Mary’s 4-1 ahead with 25 minutes to go.
Shortly after, Lucy O’Rourke topped off her performance with a goal which gave her the hattrick and put St Mary’s Firing ahead with 15 minutes to go. Another great goal from Laura Dunlea with an excellent ball in from Lucy Doheny. This puts St Mary’s 6-1 up with 10 minutes to go. Great teamwork by Lucy Doheny and Laura Dunlea, followed by a goal from Laura, her second of the day. The final score was St Mary’s 7 ,Scoil Dara 1, Great performances from all.
