Senior Leinster Soccer Quarter Final

Strong start for St. Mary’s senior soccer team in their Leinster quarter final. A close corner and free-kick by Orlagh in the first few minutes . A great run down the line by Sarah and shot almost into the top corner. Unfortunately after almost 15 minutes the other team scored making it 1-0 but the girls kept a positive attitude leading to some great tackles in defence. 5 minutes later the girls pushed through resulting in a great goal by Leah. Shortly after we had a really close shot by Orlagh hitting the crossbar. Sadly the other team scored again but a few minutes later we had an excellent goal by Alannah bringing the score to 2-2 at half time.
After a motivational team talk the girls made an excellent start to the second half with a close free kick by Sarah. An amazing header by Leah with a great assist by Orlagh making it 3-2. Alannah got a free kick from 45 yards and buried it in the back of the net. Orlagh finished the match with the final goal beating 6 players bringing the final score to 5-3.
