Senior Hockey
Great first game back for our senior hockey players with a 3-2 victory over St. Conleth' s College Dublin, on our home pitch. The St. Mary’s girls started strong with an early goal scored by Ciara Finn after a great intercept by Scarlett Johnstone and a cross from Jane Noone. We were able to maintain this lead into half time thanks to great defending from Anna Sparrow and Cara Humphreys.

The girls extended their lead in the first half with a goal from Niamh Herbert following a cross from Ciara Finn. They continued to attack and no more than two minutes later found their way into the back of the goal again thanks to a goal from Kate Foley who received the ball from Hannah Ling.

St. Conleth's, after being down three goals, switched into the offensive and managed to score two goals. The St. Mary’s girls knew they couldn’t let Conleth's score another goal and defended very well, not giving the opposition even one short corner, to end the game in 3-2 victory.
All of the St. Mary's girls played very well. This was the first time this group of players played together with a mixture of 4th, 5th and 6th year girls making up the team. Each girl stepped up to the mark in what was for most of the team their first game at Senior level. Well done girls, and we are looking forward to the next game.
