Well done to the St Mary’s Junior Camogie team who beat Loreto Balbriggan today by 6 points. The girls had a great start to the game with Katie Whelan getting a goal and a point early on and Hannah Murphy pulling off some very important saves. The Balbriggan players proved to be tough opposition by fighting hard and were leading by a point at half time. St Mary’s regrouped in the second half with an all important goal scored by Kate Murphy. St Mary’s took control in the last fifteen minutes with great performances by Allie McGrath, Julie Kennedy and Sophie Hazzard. This lifted the girls spirits with the help of the backs who played extremely well throughout the game with Megan Riordan and Eva Lynch showing great leadership and a never say die attitude.
