Senior A Volleyball All Ireland Final

The National Anthem was followed by the introduction of the two teams. St Mary's Naas up against Holy Family Newbridge in an All-Ireland Volleyball Final. Right from the first whistle, a heroic effort was made St. Mary's.
Holy Family Newbridge started out on top, but after a time out, our girls put up a great fight and began to refocus their efforts. Superb scores by Eadaoin Flynn and Joana Serra. The first set ended 25-20 to Holy Family. St Mary's showed great skill and perseverance throughout.
Captain Claire MacGabhann played excellently in the second set and really brought the team together, but unfortunately the opposition continued to stay ahead. Great serves by Laura Popczyk and scores by Cloe Riba in the second set which ended 25-15 to Holy Family.
Amazing saves by Emma Williams and wonderful digs from Cloe in the third set, followed by a great spike from Claire. The final set ended 24-17. Sadly, Holy Family finished on top, but the girls never gave up and displayed a brilliant performance until the end. Well done girls, we are immensely proud of you!
