Learning Support

Students of all abilities come to St. Mary’s College and reach their potential in a safe, secure and excellent teaching and learning environment.

We provide specialised support for students with special educational needs through our dedicated Learning Support Department. We have two core LS/SEN teachers. During the year this core team is assisted by a number of subject specialist teachers.

We offer support to students in a variety of ways:

  • Confidence building
  • Small group teaching
  • Team teaching
  • One to one teaching
  • Subject reduction if necessary
  • SNA assistance if necessary
  • Advice on RACE applications
  • Junior Cycle Level 2 Programme

If your daughter has a diagnosed SEN or if you have concerns regarding your daughter's learning ability, please contact the learning support department to make an appointment.
