Online SciFest competition in IT Carlow


A massive well done to the following TY students who have entered the online SciFest competition in IT Carlow. The girls have done so well in completing and submitting projects to this competition in difficult circumstances:

Sophie Barret and Erica Roche with their research on enzyme replacement therapy for late onset Pompe Disease.

Oníosa Cocoman and Rachel Jordan for their project to test the cognitive ability of girls when different variables are applied.

Eimear Freely, Grace Moloney and Aisling Hughes for their research into the effects of various plastics on the growth of Cress.

Laura Whelan, Milena Fiodorow and Elizabeth Downey for their research on the link between calcium levels in drinking water and growth of kidney stones.

Ellen Sievwright, Sophie Naughton and Emma Culhane for their research entitled "Brace Yourself" investigating whether the presence of orthodontic treatment affects the pH of saliva, and the adverse health effects this variation may cause.
